UNI Archaeological Field School

Students from the University of Northern Iowa are participating in an Archaeological Field School during June 2013. They join students from Michigan State University (Project Director: Lynne Goldstein), the University of Wisconsin (Co-Director: Sissel Schroeder), and Illinois State University at Aztalan State Park. The park hosts an archaeological site, known as Aztalan, that contains both Woodland and Mississippian materials from roughly 1000 years ago. Field school students are excavating in two locations: "West of Palisades" and the "Gravel Knoll."
